Veteran Owned Business
McCormick Real Estate & Management is a veteran-owned business founded by Gary McCormick in July 2013.
While we specialize in the commercial real estate market, we also market residential real estate from time to time.
Gary McCormick has been serving the Pittsburgh real estate community since 1990 before branching out on his own in July of 2013 with McCormick Real Estate & Management.
Gary received a Liberal Arts degree in journalism from Duquesne University where he was also on the diving team. While employed as a head hunter, recruiting for executives in the real estate, company management, asset management, and property development industries, Gary developed a strong interest in the real estate industry.
He obtained his commercial real estate license in 1990 and his broker’s license in 2000. Gary brings more than two decades of commercial real estate experience in the tri-state area to McCormick Real Estate and Management.
Throughout his career, Gary has utilized his expertise and experience to complement his professionalism which has allowed him to establish successful relationships and extraordinary results for his clients. Gary understands the commercial real estate market intricately and is passionate about the pursuit of cost savings for his customers through excellence of service. After working for Kossman Development and Prudential Real Estate, Gary saw a better way to support clients and manage their individual needs leading to the opening of McCormick Real Estate & Management in July 2013.
Off the Clock
When Gary is detached from his headset, he enjoys kayaking and spending time with his family. Gary comes from a large family and is one of 9 children. Family is a very important part of Gary’s life.
Outdoor activities rank at the top of Gary’s list. He enjoys swimming, hiking, biking, skiing, white water rafting, canoeing, and kayaking. In 2004 Gary had the opportunity to kayak the Grand Canyon. “A very memorable trip,” said Gary.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, Gary combined his love of the water and kayaking with his desire to help wounded veterans by joining Team River Runner. As a volunteer with Team River Runner, Gary takes wounded veterans kayaking twice each month, weather permitting, during the summer months. This adventure allows veterans to forget about their injuries for a few hours while enjoying the adventure of whitewater and kayaking. In addition, kayaking helps them improve their health, strength, and connection with nature. For more information about Team River Runner, please visit their website: https://www.teamriverrunner.org/. Gary is also a member of and at one time served on the board of Three Rivers Paddling Club, a local kayaking organization. For more information, please visit http://www.threeriverspaddlingclub.org.

Just For Fun
Eskimo roll with a side of bass… The man, the legend, the “mythtake”.
Gary McCormick is one of the funniest men we know. Gary has done stand up comedy and always has everyone laughing at every conversation. As we stated earlier, Gary is a huge kayaker. One of his best known pranks when kayaking is to shock newbies on the water or strangers along the way. When kayaking you roll the kayak under the water and roll it back up right again in the water. Gary’s best prank ever is the bass fish he puts in his mouth and rolls up to see the expression of everyone all around him… laughing hysterically. No matter how many times his friends see it – its always a great belly laugh.

$100 Hamburger Flight
Sometimes you just have to get away… Gary enjoys his mental health day with a $100 hamburger flight to Akron. Gary saw some great reproductions of the Wright Flyer, the first airplane, made of wood and fabric. The reproduction made of aluminum stands in front of the Akron Museum.

Cheat River “Massacrance”
May 2024 McCormick Real Estate sponsored the Cheat River Kayak race. As the largest mass-start-kayak race in the world, most racers are single navigators competing against the clock.
Just as Gary aids races on the water, he views your time purchasing or selling real estate as against the clock too.
